UPM DIGI papers for transpromo and direct mail printing

Two main high-speed inkjet colour printing products are UPM DIGI Color Jet and UPM DIGI Jet. The surface of these woodfree uncoated papers meet the specific requirements during the printing process, with fast ink absorption, low bleeding and excellent waterfastness.

UPM DIGI Color Jet is a pigmented paper, developed for full colour printing. Its main end-uses are direct mail and transpromotional document printing, but it also suits perfectly for many other colourful mailing documents and books.

UPM DIGI Jet is offered to lower ink coverage products such as transactional documents, statements, books (invoices, order forms etc).

UPM expands its range of cutsize papers

There is a lot going on in UPM's cutsize papers; we can now offer three new products covering papers made of 100% recycled fibers, a high performance color print paper with improved whiteness and a light and bulky 70 g/m² paper. UPM's new copy papers are manufactured according to existing social and ecological principles, similarly to all previous ones. Like in all UPM's papers, the sustainability issue is well covered; the papers have the most comprehensive existing environmental certification, the EU Ecolabel, as well as forest certifications PEFC or FSC.

New Presstek Distributor Adler Gruppe Signs First Agreement

Presstek, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRST), a leading supplier of digital offset printing solutions to the printing and communications industries, today announced that the Egyptian Ministry of Defense has purchased a Presstek 34DI-UV four colour digital offset press and a Presstek 9920 single colour offset press. Both presses were installed in a brand-new Cairo facility. The presses were sold and will be serviced by Adler Gruppe, Presstek’s recently appointed Egypt-based distributor.

The Ministry selected the Presstek 34DI-UV to address security printing needs within the Egyptian military due to its precise registration and ability to print fine detail, inherent in all Presstek DI presses. The durability and instant drying of UV inks is an added benefit for these mission-critical applications. The Presstek 34DI-UV has a maximum sheet size of 340mm x 460mm (13.39” x 17.72”) and supports 300lpi and FM screening. UPM DIGI Color Jet - a new pigmented colour inkjet paper launched at IPEX

UPM has launched a new paper for high-speed inkjet colour printing within its UPM DIGI paper range at the IPEX 2010 fair in Birmingham, UK.

The UPM DIGI Color Jet is a pigmented inkjet paper. It prints vivid colours and uniform solids and has high colour intensity with low ink amounts. Its main end-uses are direct mail and transpromotional document printing, but it also suits perfectly for many other colourful mailing documents and books.

The paper has been granted the EU Eco-label as a proof of its strong environmental performance in manufacturing and sustainable raw material use. The producing mill, UPM Docelles, also has PEFC and FSC Chain of Custodies, confirming the origin of wood.

The 90 g/m2 paper is available in reels. "This paper completes our inkjet paper range by offering top in the class colour printing quality and excellent water fastness on all major high speed inkjet devices," says Mikko Mensonen, UPM, Product Manager, Office, Postal & DIGI papers.

The UPM DIGI range is the widest range of digital printing papers available on the market. Xeikon’s donation of card printing and finishing services helps support 2009 Holiday Greetings program

Boston, MA and Itasca, IL, Feb 09, 2010 – Xeikon, a division of Punch Graphix, legendary for pioneering the first digital color presses, and the Jimmy Fund, a leading supporter of the fight against cancer in children and adults at Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, today announced that more than $318,000 was raised through the 2009 Holiday Greetings program to support cancer care and research.

In 2009, Xeikon and the Jimmy Fund entered into a corporate partnership in which Xeikon donated all printing and finishing services to produce festive holiday cards, helping to offset the costs of the Holiday Greetings program.

Through this initiative, holiday cards and exclusive gifts, such as handcrafted ornaments and candles, could be purchased for friends or family members, with proceeds benefiting the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through its Jimmy Fund.

Xerox and On Demand Books will jointly market and sell, on a worldwide basis, the Xerox 4112™ Copier/Printer together with the Espresso Book Machine - a fully integrated solution that prints, binds and trims books with full color covers on demand in retail locations and libraries. Xerox and ACS Set February 5 for Shareholders Meetings on Acquisition of Affiliated Computer Services

On February 5, Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) and Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (NYSE: ACS) shareholders will vote on Xerox's agreement to purchase ACS, the world's largest diversified business process outsourcing firm. The joint proxy statement has been finalized and will be sent to Xerox and ACS shareholders. Xerox and ACS boards of directors recommend shareholders vote in favor of the acquisition, which will transform Xerox into the leading global enterprise for document and business process management, accelerating its growth in an expanding market.

In preparation for the shareholder meetings, Xerox and ACS satisfied Hart-Scott Rodino and Securities and Exchange Commission requirements. Earlier this month, Xerox successfully completed a $2 billion capital markets transaction, the net proceeds of which support the ACS acquisition. In addition, Xerox confirmed that pre-closing litigation-related issues have been resolved, and that both parties intend to move quickly to close the deal.
