 The PrintCity Alliance Web Printing Seminar was a special session within the ABRO Annual Congress on August 18 and attracted an audience of over 100 people. Presentations were made by PrintCity members Sun Chemical, manroland, UPM and Cofely. Pictured at the event are (left to right) Rainer Kuhn (PrintCity Alliance), Michael Eich (Cofely), Tommi Hemmila (UPM), Cristina Barros (Sun Chemical), Albrecht Röser (manroland), Eduardo Costa (Abril/ABRO) and Dr Bernhard Fritz (Sun Chemical).

 On August 18 and 19 PrintCity Alliance members completed their first  two seminar events in S&amp;atilde;o Paulo, Brazil, both with large audiences:&amp;nbsp;

Web Printing &amp;ndash; Technical Visions of the Future of Print &amp;ndash; in partnership with ABRO on August 18
Sheetfed Printing &amp;amp; Packaging &amp;ndash; Benefits and Technologies for Value Added Printing &amp;ndash; in partnership with ABIGRAF and SENAI on August 19

&amp;nbsp;
Web Printing Seminar
&amp;nbsp;
The PrintCity Alliance Web Printing seminar was a special session within the ABRO Annual Congress and attracted an audience of over 100 people.
&amp;nbsp;
Lively open discussions followed the presentations by PrintCity members Sun Chemical, manroland, UPM and Cofely on value added printing, lean manufacturing and environmental issues.
&amp;nbsp;
Trends for more special interest magazines, higher quality and production efficiency were identified as the key success factors for printers &amp;amp; publishers to create a better experience for the reader and be highly attractive for advertisers &amp;amp; brand owners.
84 % of participants rated the PrintCity session as &amp;lsquo;very good&amp;rsquo; or &amp;lsquo;good&amp;rsquo;.
&amp;nbsp;
This PrintCity seminar session was chaired by Eduardo G&amp;acirc;ndara Costa  of Abril (President at ABRO) and Rainer Kuhn (General Manager) on  behalf of the PrintCity Alliance.&amp;nbsp;
&amp;nbsp;
Sheetfed Printing &amp;amp; Packaging Seminar
&amp;nbsp;
Over 100 Brazilian sheetfed printers and packaging printers attended this event and heard presentations from PrintCity members manroland, Sun Chemical, UPM, Cofely, Eltosch and Kurz. Much attention was paid to the presentations focusing on value added printing techniques such as creative foil applications and UV finishing. These were discussed at length from various angles including: benefits, applications, technology and examples.
&amp;nbsp;
Presentation topics also included the influence of temperature on productivity, the sustainability of paper and best practice packaging guidelines for safe food production.
&amp;nbsp;
Through this discussion the power of PRINT was emphasised, with the audience recognising the importance of value added printing opportunities for their businesses.The PrintCity Sheetfed Seminar contained very good interactive panel sessions involving the Brazilian audience &amp;ndash; led by Mr Manteigas of SENAI and Mr Victor of ABIGRAF.
&amp;nbsp;
Innovative New PrintCity Alliance Packaging Project &amp;ndash; VAPack
&amp;nbsp;
One of the August 19 highlights was the &amp;lsquo;world first&amp;rsquo; presentation by Matthias Holder of manroland introducing the new PrintCity Alliance VAPack project &amp;ndash; Value Added Packaging.
&amp;nbsp;
This project exploits the full range of value added printing techniques. A range of new innovative sample boxes created by PrintCity Alliance members will be made available direct to brand owners and designers, to generate discussion on benefits, differentiation, customer appeal and bespoke applications.
&amp;nbsp;
The primary objective is to promote Value Added Packaging technologies &amp;amp; opportunities to the global industry &amp;ndash; luxury goods through to high volume consumer food packaging.
&amp;nbsp;
Positive Comments on Both Events by Brazilian Attendees
&amp;nbsp;
Fl&amp;aacute;vio Godoi Gon&amp;ccedil;alves of Editora Abril commented on the August 18  web printing event, &amp;ldquo;Great approach conveyed by the speakers. Especially  encouraging global sustainability.&amp;rdquo;
&amp;nbsp;
Sidney Anversa Victor commented on the August 19 sheetfed printing &amp;amp; packaging seminar, &amp;ldquo;It was very important for me, representing ABIGRAF&amp;rsquo;s Group GE EMBA, to be involved with the participants in the PrintCity Alliance&#039;s recent event. Technical information on value added printing, productivity and sustainability are basic needs to the printer leaders in Brazil.
&amp;nbsp;
&amp;ldquo;The place chosen, quality of the speakers and the themes  approached, added to the good discussions during coffee breaks, have  helped all the participants to prepare themselves for the future.&amp;rdquo;

 Since June there has also been a big increase in new orders for KBA’s multi-unit newspaper web presses: within a few weeks no less than four newspaper publishers in Germany and the UK signed up for compact, high-automation Commander CT press lines

 Heading back to the black

                     Jump in orders for both sheetfed and web presses&amp;nbsp;

                     Higher level of capacity utilisation&amp;nbsp;

                     Return to full-time work at most plants&amp;nbsp;

                     Good liquidity, no net debt&amp;nbsp;

                     Outlook: sales of &amp;euro;1.1bn-plus and higher pre-tax profit&amp;nbsp;

Following the release of preliminary  figures on 20 July revealing a perceptible upswing in the print media  industry and a year-on-year increase in new orders of almost 39%, German  press manufacturer Koenig &amp;amp; Bauer AG (KBA) has now fleshed out the  details in its half-yearly report. Compared to the same period last year  group sales were up 4.5% at &amp;euro;473.2m and the pre-tax loss was slashed  from &amp;euro;47.4m to &amp;euro;22m, &amp;euro;21.3m of which originated in the first quarter,  when sales were still weak. From these figures it can be seen that KBA  almost achieved a balanced result in the second quarter, with EBT  improving to just -&amp;euro;0.7m. It also posted an operating profit of &amp;euro;0.5m  for the quarter, and although the accounts still show an operating loss  of &amp;euro;18.9m for the first six months, this was well under half the  corresponding figure of -&amp;euro;42.4m in 2009. The net loss to 30 June shrank  from &amp;euro;46.8m to &amp;euro;20.3m, while earnings per share improved to -&amp;euro;1.23.&amp;nbsp;
&amp;nbsp;

           Print media industry gaining momentum&amp;nbsp;
Both business divisions posted a higher  volume of new orders and sales. Sales of sheetfed presses climbed 5.3%  to &amp;euro;199.3m, sales of web and special presses were up 3.9% at &amp;euro;273.9m.  Demand for sheetfed presses starting picking up in March, and for big  web presses in June. The influx of new orders in the six months to July  jumped 38.9% to &amp;euro;679.3m. KBA booked sheetfed orders worth &amp;euro;192.7m in the  second quarter alone, and the figure for the full six months was  &amp;euro;303.6m, a year-on-year rise of 36.6%. The order intake for web and  special presses soared 40.8% to &amp;euro;375.7m. Both divisions reported  continued brisk demand in July, and there was a surge in orders for big  newspaper web presses. &amp;nbsp;
           Higher level of plant utilisation&amp;nbsp;
The backlog of unfilled orders at the end  of June was worth &amp;euro;541.1m, a good &amp;euro;100m more than at the end of March  and higher than the prior-year figure of &amp;euro;537.8m which included web  press contracts booked prior to the financial crisis. KBA&amp;rsquo;s sheetfed  plants returned to full-time work in June as production was cranked up  again. Short-time schemes were also scaled back at its other factories  and are likely to be terminated &amp;ndash; at least provisionally &amp;ndash; this autumn  as work is distributed among group operations to maintain employment,  and web press business gathers momentum. &amp;nbsp;
Notwithstanding an increase in inventories  of around &amp;euro;30m, in preparation for higher shipments in the second  half-year, the operative cash flow improved from -&amp;euro;41.3m at the end of  March to -&amp;euro;18.1m at the end of June. In his letter to shareholders in the  half-yearly report KBA president and CEO Helge Hansen emphasised that  the operative cash flow in the heavy engineering sector is prone to  periodic fluctuations but should improve as sales pick up still further  in coming months. Funds at the end of June totalled &amp;euro;45.8m and KBA&amp;rsquo;s net  financial position was positive, while its equity ratio of 37.5%  compares well with the rest of the sector.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;
           Consolidation on course&amp;nbsp;
At the end of June the KBA group employed a  total of 6,445 people, almost 1,000 fewer than at the same time last  year (7,411) and 1,700 below the pre-crisis peak in summer 2008.  Existing redundancy and phased-retirement schemes will reduce the total  by approximately 300. By the end of the year the personnel cuts  initiated in spring 2009 will be largely completed, leaving a payroll of  around 6,100.&amp;nbsp;
&amp;nbsp;

           86.2% export level&amp;nbsp;
A 10% drop in domestic sales pushed the  export level up from 83.9% to 86.2%. Shipments to the rest of Europe  fell from &amp;euro;176.7m to &amp;euro;139.7m as the recession impacted on sales in key  print markets. So after exceeding 50% on a regular basis, the proportion  of Group sales generated in Europe almost halved to 29.5%. Brisk demand  boosted earnings in Asia and the Pacific from &amp;euro;101.2m to &amp;euro;127.6m and  the proportion of Group sales from 22.3% to 27%. However, the proportion  booked in North America, where the economy has yet to revive, sank to  11.6%. The contribution from Africa and Latin America soared to 18.1% &amp;ndash;  well above the historic average. &amp;nbsp;
           Outlook for second half-year&amp;nbsp;
Demand for printing presses has picked up  strongly in the past five months, as a result of which both the group  order intake and the level of plant utilisation have increased  substantially. So despite the cut in personnel and the fact that more  work has been brought in-house, Hansen stands by his previous projection  for the current year of an increase of some 7.5% in sales to more than  &amp;euro;1.1bn (2009: &amp;euro;1.05bn): &amp;ldquo;We are confident that the substantial  improvement in performance compared to the first six months of 2009 will  continue for the rest of the year, and that we shall post a  single-digit rise in sales and a bigger pre-tax profit than the &amp;euro;2.7m in  2009. Precisely how high earnings are will essentially depend on our  niche markets, with their shorter business cycles, on our customer  services and on a sustained economic revival.&amp;rdquo; &amp;nbsp;
Despite an intensive search KBA has not yet  made any further acquisition or entered a collaborative alliance with  new partners. Even so, the group remains committed to diversifying from  its traditional business of press technology into new fields offering  good prospects for growth and employment. Says Hansen: &amp;ldquo;Protracted  negotiations on a potential acquisition with a business volume of well  over &amp;euro;100m recently fell through when the risks to which KBA would be  exposed proved to be too high. Further options are being pursued with  the due diligence and patience essential in the current business  climate. While KBA has ample reserves to finance any promising project,  we are in no hurry and have no desire to enter a venture with an  uncertain outcome.&amp;rdquo;&amp;nbsp;

 Technology leader lives up to its reputation

 Right in time for the busy year-end production season in late 2010, the first ROLAND InlineFoiler Prindor in Southeast Asia starts up in Jakarta.
Fascinated by the possibilities that the cold foil enhancement  process offers, President Commissioner Welly Bolung decided in favor of  manroland once again. A six-color ROLAND 700 HiPrint with coating  module, extended delivery, and a ROLAND InlineFoiler Prindor supplements  the machinery at Indonesia Printer where some manroland presses are  already installed. The company is regarded as a technology leader and  creative trailblazer in Indonesia. Welly Bolung about the added value  the new printing system provides: &amp;ldquo;We have always invested in the latest  technology. With the ROLAND InlineFoiler Prindor we are able to further  improve the quality of our existing product portfolio and also open up  completely new markets. This benefits us and our customers in equal  measure.&amp;rdquo;
Showing what they can doIn order to promote the new technology in advance, Indonesia Printer organized a large symposium in Jakarta at the end of July. This involved having the company&amp;rsquo;s new brochure enhanced with the ROLAND InlineFoiler Prindor in the Print Technology Center in Offenbach and then finished in Indonesia for the symposium. The core business of Indonesia Printer is made up of calendars, brochures, annual reports, books and high-quality magazines, as well as office supplies and stationery. The company plans to add packaging printing to its range of services. Since it was established in 1983, Indonesia Printer has continually expanded. Today a staff of 250 produces up to 100 print jobs per day &amp;ndash; seven days a week in three-shift operation.

 manroland AG is the world&amp;rsquo;s second largest printing systems manufacturer and the world&amp;rsquo;s market leader in web offset. The group with its production sites in Offenbach, Augsburg, and Plauen employs almost 8,000 people and has annual sales of some Euro 1,7 billion with an export share of approximately 80 percent (fiscal year 2008).

A worldwide network of about 100 sales and service centers markets manroland&amp;rsquo;s products as well as process compliant system components and pressroom products.
Web offset presses for newspapers and high-quality commercial printing of brochures, catalogs, magazines, supplements, and books are manufactured at the Augsburg site (founded 1845). manroland&amp;rsquo;s Plauen site (founded 1896) is renowned for newspaper presses and paper supply systems. Interested printing shops can use a new platform jointly created with ClimatePartner, www.climateneutralprinting.com/kba, to easily calculate the CO2 emissions generated in printing production runs. This makes it possible for them to provide interested customers with the opportunity to neutralize those emissions by participating in certified climate protection projects with a straightforward surcharge

 New service provided by the printing manufacturer with ClimatePartner

 W&amp;uuml;rzburg/Munich. In a collaboration project with ClimatePartner, Koenig &amp;amp; Bauer AG is the first printer manufacturer to offer environmentally minded customers an individualized and easy-to-use solution for calculating the greenhouse gas emissions generated by printing production runs. KBA was one of ClimatePartner&amp;rsquo;s early industry partners. The two companies have been working together since 2008. Effective immediately, KBA will be offering their own online platform in co-operation with the environmental protection consultancy out of Munich. Printing shops can use the platform to calculate the CO2 emitted in their printing production runs, which could then be neutralized by participating in certified climate protection projects.
Printing shops registering at www.climateneutralprinting.com/kba an enter data relevant to emissions and obtain the information on their printing shop&amp;rsquo;s individual carbon footprint, enabling them to henceforth print in a climate neutral manner. Furthermore, knowing a printing shop&amp;rsquo;s carbon footprint is the starting point for making improvements in environmental protection. The W&amp;uuml;rzburg printer manufacturer is hoping to sensitize their customers to the challenges presented by climate change. Klaus Schmidt, Director of Marketing and Communication at KBA: &amp;ldquo;Climate neutral printing is one of many services offered by KBA for sustainable printing production. We hope to support our customers not only with highly energy efficient printing equipment and our commitment to waterless offset printing in environment friendly production, but also to help them to select the best printing substrate and finishing processes with respect to environmental protection. That&amp;rsquo;s why we&amp;rsquo;ve made the decision to come together with ClimatePartner to create an online platform for climate neutral printing.&amp;rdquo;
This new service will be launched in German and English. At ClimatePartner, the collaboration with KBA has been very well received: &amp;ldquo;Having a partnership with KBA is an important milestone for us.&amp;rdquo; explains Moritz Lehmkuhl, founder and CEO of ClimatePartner GmbH.
The platform for climate neutral printing is now being actively offered simultaneously in Europe and the USA.

 Solutions for security printing from Heidelberg: Rainbow printing allows simultaneous processing of different inks in a single ink fountain.

     150th Heidelberg printing unit with rainbow device goes to Russian security printer in a Speedmaster SM 102
     Special rainbow printing application now available for all Speedmaster formats - including the Speedmaster XL 105
     Security printing of banknotes, security paper, passes, check cards, and stamps

A Russian print shop specializing in security printing has received the 150th printing unit with rainbow device in their new Speedmaster SM&amp;nbsp;102 six-color UV press from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg). Rainbow printing allows simultaneous processing of different inks in a single ink fountain.
The rainbow device features a special knife-type ink fountain, individually adjustable ink distribution, and ink separation in the ink fountain. The different inks combine in a single ink fountain to produce controlled fine lines on the sheet. The resultant vignette within the print motif is key to security printing.
 Special rainbow printing application now available for all Speedmaster formats - including the Speedmaster XL 105 A customer in the Netherlands recently started using the first Speedmaster XL 105 equipped with a rainbow printing device. Rainbow printing is already available on the Speedmaster SM 52, SM 74, XL 75, and CD/SM 102 series. In 2007, the world&#039;s largest banknote printer - China Banknote Printing and Minting Corporation (CBPM) - had installed 12 Speedmaster CD 102 presses at its various branches, all equipped with a rainbow printing device to print securities. Print shops specializing in security printing in Brazil, the U.S., and Europe also use special presses of this kind from Heidelberg. The presses are mainly used for the print of banknotes, security papers, check cards, driver&#039;s licenses, identity papers, postage stamps, and tax stamps.

 <title>Koenig &amp; Bauer AG - First triple-width KBA Commander CT for Europe</title>
 <link>http://www.printerslounge.com/en/node/61932</link>
 <description>
 Der neue Tag in Weiden invests in compact newspaper press technology

 With an investment package totalling €25 million, the newspaper and media house “Der neue Tag” in Weiden, Northern Bavaria, is setting off along the road to an even more successful future. Following the example of the New York Daily News and the Canadian print group Transcontinental, Der neue Tag has opted for the triple-width version of the highly automated compact press KBA Commander CT to boost its production and publishing activities. This order already raises KBA&#039;s sales of the most modern conventional offset technology currently available to the newspaper market to 72 towers – 33 in the triple-width version and 39 for double-width lines. Negotiations on further projects are approaching conclusion.
The 48-page installation with two 6/2 towers is to be set up in a new print centre on the Weiden-West commercial estate, and after commissioning in summer 2011 will gradually take over production from an existing KBA Express dating from 1995. In addition to the press hall, the 16,000 m2 site is to accommodate also warehouse space, a new mailroom and dispatch hall, and the integrated pre-press department for the new print centre.
“Voice of the region”
The company was founded by Anton Döhler and Victor von Gostomski on 31st May 1946, and is now opening a new chapter in the long-standing partnership with Koenig &amp;amp; Bauer AG (KBA) with its order for the Commander CT. Speaking at a ceremony to mark the breaking of the ground for the new print centre, publisher and board member German Vogelsang explained how the largest investment in the company&#039;s history to date was aimed at strengthening the newspapers as the “voice of the region” in a fast-changing media landscape, and would thereby help to secure the long-term future of the media house: “The decision was preceded by many months of critical evaluation, analysis and research. Such an ambitious project is seen as a gesture of confidence in the region, and naturally also in our core business. This high-tech press from Koenig &amp;amp; Bauer will enable us to print our newspapers, advertisers, supplements and magazines even more flexibly, efficiently and economically, with even more up-to-date content and in excellent full-colour quality.”
The media house is today owned by the families Döhler, Shanahan, Vogelsang and Panzer, and with a staff of more than 400 publishes the largest daily newspaper in the region, Der neue Tag, together with the regional titles Sulzbach-Rosenberger Zeitung and Amberger Zeitung and five further local editions. The daily circulation lies at around 84,000 copies. This output is augmented by a variety of weekly advertisers which are published by the company itself and like the newspaper products serve more than two-thirds of the Oberpfalz region. Further capacities are occupied by contract printing for advertising titles and other newspaper-like products.
Compact future-oriented press technology
The KBA Commander CT 6/2 press has been ordered in a substructure configuration for a cylinder circumference of 910mm (35.8in) and a maximum web width of 1,890mm (74.4in). It is engineered to print up to 90,000 full-colour newspapers per hour in straight production. The two compact triple-width towers are equipped with fully automatic KBA PlateTronic plate changers, automatic KBA RollerTronic roller locks, KBA NipTronic cylinder bearings, KBA FanoTronic fan-out compensation, automatic colour register control, KBA CleanTronic blanket washing and central ink supplies. The two KBA Pastomat CL reelstands are loaded automatically via the KBA Patras A reel-handling system with integrated stripping station and daily store.
Further important features include two double turner decks, a folder superstructure with three formers, a KBA KF 5 jaw folder, a section stitcher, a skip slitter and a variable perforation unit for tear-out ads (“Zip’n’Buy”). Half-covers and flying pages are additional production options. The very low start-up waste is achieved with a combination of reel alignment facilities, cut-off register control and web guidance systems. The KBA Commander CT 6/2 is operated from two ErgoTronic consoles incorporating KBA&#039;s production scheduling and press presetting functions, with the modules KBA EasyStart and EasyStop for automatic press start-up and run-down.
Publishing house manager Reinhold Pöll: “Our visits to the Commander CT installations in Würzburg and New York convinced us of the benefits offered by the various automation modules with regard to makeready times, waste reduction, print quality and the ease of handling and maintenance. The compact overall design, the push-button opening of the towers and the lifts on both sides relieve the press crew of an enormous amount of legwork and are characteristic for the high level of operator convenience.”

 The Koenig &amp;amp; Bauer Group is one of the largest press manufacturers worldwide and has the broadest press range in the industry. The parent company is Koenig &amp;amp; Bauer AG (KBA) with facilities in Würzburg, Radebeul, Frankenthal and Trennfeld (all in Germany).

 <title>Koenig &amp; Bauer AG - First-class prints off second-hand KBA Rapidas</title>

 Central Printing production manager Tan Wee Chan (r), pictured here with KBA Asia Pacific sales manager Rex Teng, is delighted with the company’s second-hand Rapida 72

 KBA Asia Pacific: rising demand for used kit

 The outstanding reputation that KBA&amp;rsquo;s Rapida sheetfed offset presses enjoy in the growth markets of Southeast Asia is not confined to the latest generation. KBA Asia Pacific is also doing a brisk trade in second-hand kit, particularly in and around Kuala Lumpur.
Among commercial and packaging printers the most popular models are the B2 (29in) Rapida 72 and 74 and B1 (40in) Rapida 104 and 105 universal, the two previous generations of the Rapida 75 and 106. Alongside standard four- and five-colour configurations more and more users are opting for five- and six-colour coater versions. Inline finishing is evidently rapidly gaining ground in Asia, primarily for packaging, displays and upmarket commercials.
Faith in quality, performance and service The surge in interest is driven by a widespread conviction in the market that the Rapidas are more rugged, last longer and deliver a better performance than some other makes of press. So when times are hard and budgets are tight printers often opt for a good second-hand KBA press in preference to a costly new one from another manufacturer. Not just in Malaysia but throughout the region, KBA Asia Pacific has steadily expanded its service network over the past few years in order to enhance both customer proximity and quality. German-trained technicians provide a complete range of after-sales services ranging from maintenance and repairs to spare parts and customer training. This has engendered confidence among the many new KBA users who previously worked with other brands. KBA Asia Pacific managing director Stefan Segger says: &amp;ldquo;The money and effort we have put into building up a customer-focussed organisation have really paid off. Southeast Asia is a high-growth region. We are addressing customers needs and they trust us implicitly, which is a solid basis for the future.&amp;rdquo;
Rapida 72: compact all-rounder in top form Central Printing in Kuala Lumpur recently installed a five-colour Rapida 72. Established in 2000, the fifteen-employee company prints packaging, books and promos. Managing director Loh Chee Boon says: &amp;ldquo;The Rapida 72 was delivered in excellent condition and will boost productivity substantially. We used to work with presses from another German manufacturer, but do not regret switching to KBA. The Rapida made a fine start and in the first year will deliver a 50 per cent increase in turnover. We are equally satisfied with the project support and service provided by KBA Asia Pacific.&amp;rdquo;
Rapida 105 cuts the mustard at Easy Print Studio Another Kuala Lumpur enterprise, Easy Print Studio founded in the 1990s, opted for a second-hand KBA Rapida 105 four-colour coater press. Directors Fok Boon Leong and Vincent Wong Chung Mun are pursuing ambitious growth objectives: &amp;ldquo;Here in Malaysia our MOOF and AEIOU brands are market leaders in gift packaging, bags, wrapping paper and other creative print products. We are confident that with the KBA press we can materially enhance our quality and portfolio, and anticipate a rise in annual sales from 2.5 to 4 million ringgit.&amp;rdquo;
Eastsun: second-hand Rapida 104 joins fleet of Variants A six-colour coater version of the 105&amp;rsquo;s predecessor, the Rapida 104, was the press of choice for Eastsun Superior Print, which is also based in Kuala Lumpur. Since being launched by Tang Yen Fe in 1987 the company has built up a reputation throughout Malaysia and beyond for upmarket displays, labels and packaging. Its customer base includes the food, hygiene and pharmaceutical industries and manufacturers of automotive parts, household goods, electronic devices and furniture. Eastsun management has relied on the quality of presses from KBA Radebeul for many years. The six-colour Rapida 104 is the company&amp;rsquo;s fifth KBA press to date, joining a medium-format Planeta Variant and three more in large format.

 The Koenig &amp;amp; Bauer Group is one of the largest press manufacturers worldwide and has the broadest press range in the industry. The parent company is Koenig &amp;amp; Bauer AG (KBA) with facilities in W&amp;uuml;rzburg, Radebeul, Frankenthal and Trennfeld (all in Germany).
The other core members of the Group are Maschinenfabrik KBA-M&amp;ouml;dling AG in M&amp;ouml;dling, near Vienna (Austria), KBA-Grafitec s.r.o. in Dobru&amp;scaron;ka (Czech Republic), KBA-Metronic AG in Veitsh&amp;ouml;chheim, near W&amp;uuml;rzburg (Germany), KBA-MetalPrint GmbH in Stuttgart (also Germany) and KBA-GIORI S.A. in Lausanne (Switzerland).
