manroland AG - The Voice of Galicia calls for COLORMANLa Coruña daily opts for technology solution from manroland
The printing house Galicia Editorial S.L. in La Coruña, Spain, will print the Galician daily newspaper La Voz de Galicia (The Voice of Galicia) using a COLORMAN press. La Voz de Galicia, the prestigious Spanish regional newspaper, was founded in 1882 and still remains in family ownership after three generations. Now Santiago Rey, the grandson of the original founder, runs it. It is printed in tabloid format with a circulation of up to 150,000 copies, with one national and thirteen regional offprints. At the end of 2011, two COLORMAN presses will take on these tasks. The mature technology, which offers a perfect register for standardized products, was a crucial factor in the decision for the COLORMAN. Shorter changeover times and reduced waste were additional convincing features for Galicia Editorial. With groundbreaking workflow solutions, the printing house is carving its path into the future, and creating new potential for automation: the COLORMAN will also be set up for automatic plate loading (APL). COLORMAN caters to customer needs The printing house will install both presses in two steps. In late 2010, the first printing system will be installed in a production hall extension, the second COLORMAN is scheduled to go on-edition nearly one year later in the main printing house.
